History Matters to Me

There’s a new country in the world today, South Sudan. This is the former southern Christian region of Sudan, which wanted to separate from the Muslim-controlled country of Sudan. Population is 8 million, with 50% living below the poverty line. Landlocked countries comprise most of the list of failed states.
